The Free-Radical Nightmare

Adopt healthy habits to combat the unhealthy ones that you must endure daily. Like all that time under those florescent lights. It’s no secret… In modern society we spend a lot of time in toxic environments. Between air pollution and less than optional food choices, we have no shortage of free-radicals in the body. These sinister culprits open the door to disease by breaking down the body cell by cell. The best way to rid the body of them is by ingesting a healthy amount of antioxidants.

Free-radicals, essentially rogue oxygen ions in the body, are unstable and will bounce from cell to cell damaging anything in its path. Think of it like a bull in a china shop. Antioxidants give these free-radicals something to which to bond, to then be removed from the system.

These antioxidants are found in many foods, but some roots, fruit and vegetables have more than others.

Antioxidants have a scale through which to measure effectiveness. It’s known as the ORAC score. It stands for Oxidative Radical Absorption Count. Generally the higher the ORAC score, the better the antioxidant content of the food. More antioxidants in your diet have been proven to retard cell degeneration, and help improve overall health.

Problems Losing Weight?

Most weight loss experts talk about the portion size. While this is important, so is proportion for losing weight and speeding up that metabolism.

One thing that makes me cringe is when I read labels of food packages. Their producers claim that they are lean friendly and healthy, yet they are out of balance between fats, protein and carbs. Some of these so called “healthy” foods can still slow metabolism and make you store fat.

Whenever reading labels, don’t just look at the vitamins on the nutrition label. I encourage you to look for a good ratio of macro nutrients. Try matching every 3g fat; 7g protein; 9g carbs. While not set in stone, this concept has helped many lose weight. When carbs and protein are close to this balance, it’s usually very difficult to store fat. People have used this concept to consume junk foods without weight gain… and some have lost weight eating foods we call junk! So think proportion for weight loss, energy and improved health.

Shakeology For Fat Loss

There are many things I’ve heard through the years from clients that make it a nightmare trying to get  them the lean results they seek.

One of the biggest metabolic setbacks is sporadic and infrequent eating habits. This gives way to poor judgment about what and when to easy. Too much or too little can halt your progress.

Shakeology takes care of this problem by allowing my clients to fill in the gaps throughout the day, with a high protein meal replacement. This helps keep your metabolism ablaze on the road to losing weight.
It’s about the series of good small steps.

Shakeology: First Impressions

The first time I tried Shakeology I was surprised that not only did it taste good, but it stimulated my digestive system within an hour.

I could see instantly how people are losing weight drinking it. Lol. Well I guess that’s one way to lose weight with it, but the fact is, it’s healthy on many different levels.

We absorb chlorine though the skin every time we shower. This kills the good bacteria in the intestines that bring balance to the gut and help eliminate waste. Could this decreased ability to handle waste products be linked to colon cancer?

Probiotics help with this process by replenishing the good bacteria. Shakeology contains this valuable ingredient. I think that a combination of this and other contents have had people dumping their medications.
